Slayer announce farewell tour

In a surprising turn of events, thrash metal legends and 1/4 of the Big 4 Slayer have announced their resignation from music with a farewell tour. They released an announcement video featuring photos, posters and all sorts of memorabilia from their 30+ year long history.

Tour dates have not been specified, but the band is adamant that it will be a “world tour”.

The world of metal already received hints of Slayer’s possible retirement through an interview with Tom Araya 2 years ago, in which he stated that the time may come for him to put an end to his career and, in his own words, “collect my pension”. He maintains that he still enjoys performing on stage.

Ex-Judas Priest drummer Dave Holland dead at 69

Former Judas Priest drummer Dave Holland has passed away at the age of 69. Until this point in time no cause of death has been revealed.

His career began with several bands in the 1960s. Then he led classic rockers Trapeze, which Glen Hughes was a part of. Trapeze disbanded in 1979.

He was best known for his drum work on Judas Priest’s golden era records British Steel (1980),  Point of Entry (1981), Screaming for Vengeance (1982), Defenders of the Faith (1984), Turbo (1986), and Ram It Down (1988).

It was rumoured that Holland was writing a book dealing with his life in music, the rape accusations and his prison sentence.

May he rest in peace.
