MMP – How did the band get started?
S.D.I. – In early 1986 I’ve been in the studio with my former band „Black Jack Co“. We recorded two songs and tried to get a deal with a record company. We got the same reply everytime: „Quite nice boys, but don’t you have something faster and harder?.“ I phoned my old-time mate Ralf maunert and told him to play as fast as he could (And that was quite fast). Within one week we had offers from two different record companies and finally signed a contract with gama-records.
MMP – What kind of music do you play?
S.D.I. – Speed-metal
MMP – How has the fan response been?
S.D.I. – Great, you know we’ve expected nothing. We’ve been out of the scene for about 25 years. We often hear stories of the childhood and the youth of the fans, when they’ve been listening to SDI. I’m proud that we’ve reached and touched that many people. And we try to give it back at our live shows
MMP – Where did the band name come from?
S.D.I. – We tried to find a name which is remarkable. The thoughts were:
What’s evil: Satan
What’s the worst thingbesides dying, that could happen to you: being raped
Badest of the bad must be Sombody who rapes Satan: Satans Defloration Inc
Yeah, you’re right. That’s not very serios (and we were’nt either)
Besides this „SDI“ was in every mouth because of the „Strategic Defence Initiative“ of Ronald Reagan
MMP – Introduce the band members and what they do in the band?
S.D.I. – Rage: Playing guitar and behaving like a defiant child
Ralf: Playing drums at the speed of light
Reinhard: Giving interviews
MMP – Who writes the music?
S.D.I. – I do
Lyrics?
Me too, guilty in the first degree
MMP – And where do the lyric ideas come from?
S.D.I. – Different. It depends on the song and the time I wrote it. I was 22 when we recorded the first album, Ralf was 21 and Frank was 18. Many of the songs had a punk attitude (Disappointment etc), Some were political (Sign of the wicked), some were weird wishes of a young man (I wanna fuck you), The lyrics became more serious from SDI to Mistreated, due to the fact that I grew up and the music changed from pure fun to a more serious metal.
MMP – What is your view in Satanism and Occultism?
S.D.I. – I respect every religion in any way. I believe in freedom.
MMP – How many albums/CD’s have you released?
S.D.I. – 4Albums:
„Satans Delforation Inc.“ (1986),
„Sign of the wicked“ (1987),
Mistreated (1989),
„Bloodsucker Demo 1986“ (recorded 1986, released 2015)
MMP – Tell me about some the songs on the latest CD?
