  • The Living Deads – Symphony Tidwell – Upright Bass, Vocals. Randee McKnight – Drums, Vocals, Guitar

 

  • MMP – Could you describe yourselves in a few words…?
  • The Living Deads –  A futuristic step back in time.

 

  • MMP – How did the band get started?
  • The Living Deads – Randee was the drummer for the Hillbilly Hellcats. He met Symphony, flew her to Denver and got her playing Upright Bass. Moved into an RV and the rest is history.

 

  • MMP – Who writes the music?
  • The Living Deads – Both of us

  • MMP – Do you have any side projects?
  • The Living Deads – No this is the only project.

 

  • MMP – Let’s talk about the (your country) Psychobilly scene.
  • MMP – What are the current bands you like?
  • The Living Deads – The U.S. has a lot of great bands roaming around. The Koffin Kats, Nekromantics, The Rocketz, The Psycho Devilles, Sasquatch and the Sickabillys to name a few.

 

  • MMP – What are your occupations outside the Living Deads?
  • The Living Deads – None. This is the only thing we do……

 

  • MMP – Where does the name of the band come from?
  • The Living Deads – Its a tribute to the ones who came before us.
  • MMP – How’d you describe your sound?
  • The Living Deads – Its funny but lately someone came up to us after a show and told us that we are the Ministry of Psychobilly. I guess we’re pushing into an industrialbilly sort of sound with the duo. haha…

 

  • MMP – What are your main musical influences?
  • The Living Deads – Ramones mixed with Screaming Jay Hawkins sharing a drink with the Cramps.

 

  • MMP – And other influences (movies, substances, people, …. well whatever you could imagine)?
  • The Living Deads – We watch a lot of B movies while living in parking lots across the U.S.

 

  • MMP – Please describe “psychobilly” for our readers!
  •  The Living Deads – A combination of rockabilly, punk, swing, and everything else you can mix in there on speed.

 

  • MMP – Have you guys ever played in another country ?
  • The Living Deads – Yes we have played in 9 different countries.

 

  • MMP – Describe the diversity of fans that attend your live shows ?
  • The Living Deads – We play a lot of different events. From hardcore biker events to all ages shows. We draw from a lot of different musical influences, so its always an eclectic crowd.

 

  • MMP – When do you guys plan on writing any new material?
  • The Living Deads – We are in the middle of a new album.
